Program DescriptionThe Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide hybrid program at Metrowest Healthcare Academy is 90 hours in length. This includes 69 hours of lecture/theory and lab/practice and 21 hours of clinical experience at an approved Long-Term Care Facility or Hospital. Through lectures, videos, games, role-playing, and laboratory practice, the students receive a broad range of training that includes; infection control, communication and interpersonal skills, safety and emergency procedures, personal care skills, psycho-social needs, basic restorative services and skills, basic nursing skills, quality improvement and more. Nursing Aides will also be able to assist patients with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, positioning, transfer, ambulation, and vital signs, as well as learning how to gather information needed to provide care for people within the health care system.
HOW OUR HYBRID PROGRAM WORKS
The hybrid Nurse’s Aide (CNA) & HHA program at Metrowest Healthcare Academy prepares students for the Massachusetts State CNA requirements. Unlike the in-class CNA program, our hybrid program allows students to finish the theory portion online with a state approved instructor prior to completing the classroom (in person) training including skills practice and supervised clinicals at a Nursing Home Facility.
Once you have completed this course, you will have been taught all the skills and training that is needed for employment at a hospital, nursing home, assisted living, and/or home care settings.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students who DO NOT successfully complete the online portion will not be allowed into the in-person sessions and must reschedule.
